A fabulous vintage Art Deco revival clear rhinestone Butterfly brooch, which is rhodium plated. All of the stones are present, sparkling and original to the piece. The metalwork is still lovely and shiny. The brooch is Stamped M&S for Marks and Spencer. It also has an arrow stamp on the reverse, which was commonly used by Sphinx. Sphinx were a British company who also made jewellery for many other outlets, including Kenneth Jay Lane, Butler & Wilson, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Saks 5th Ave, etc. I don’t know if they also made jewellery for M&S, but it is interesting to find the arrow mark and therefore highly likely. A really beautiful piece, which will go with so many different outfits.
The wingspan measures: 2” or 5cm
