A really beautiful and colourful iridescent trochus shell cluster vintage necklace, in the most gorgeous tutti frutti jewel colours. Soldiers brought these treasured jewellery pieces back home to their sweethearts from the exotic Pacific and Asian ports, prior to, and during the World War II years. They are becoming much rarer and harder to find, particularly in original condition, as this one is. The shells are threaded on the original cat-gut thread, which still seems strong and it fastens with the original art deco diamante set fish-hook clasp. There is some minor age related wear here and there, but there is nothing which detracts in any way from its immense charm. The necklace looks beautiful whenever it catches the light, with fabulous iridescence.
