Vintage Balinese UBUD Gouache Painting on Canvas Mid Century Original Hand Painted Lush Tropical Scene Water Mountains Bali Indonesia Large Size
Circa 1960’s – 70’s
A wonderful original Balinese gouache painting on canvas, depicting a busy village scene, with lush tropical scenery, choppy sea (or river) with amazing crocodile wooden boats and mountains in the distance. The composition is highly detailed, all hand-painted with visible brushwork, in the classic Ubud school style. It does not appear to be signed. This is a fabulous example of authentic traditional Balinese decorative artwork.
The painting is an impressively large size measuring:
39″ x 22.5″, or 99cm x 57cm.
The painting is unframed and therefore it has some age related wear commensurate with age and some light marks on the reverse – please see photos. The colours are still lovely and vibrant. It really deserves to be framed and I am sure it would look amazing.
