Antique Miniature Daisy Enamel Marguerite Brooch Pin Rare Victorian Edwardian Arts & Crafts Jewellery
Circa 1900
A beautiful and delicate antique miniature marguerite daisy enamel brooch, on rose gold tone metal. The brooch has been hand-crafted, which is evident when examining it closely. I was unable to find anything remotely similar during my extensive research, and therefore assume it’s a rare piece. Some of the enamel has age related crackling and there are small amounts of enamel loss toward the centre of the flower (please see photos). You really don’t notice this unless scrutinising closely, not when wearing, and in my opinion it doesn’t detract in any way from its immense charm. The brooch fastens with an early ‘C’ catch.
The national flower of Denmark, the marguerite daisy is a symbol of purity and innocence.
Small miniature size – Measures: 18.4 mm diameter (about the size of a 5p piece)
