Antique Sterling Silver Cameo Pendant Necklace On Original Chain Carved Mother of Pearl Abalone MOP Beautiful Victorian Lady
A beautiful antique hand-crafted sterling silver mother of pearl cameo pendant necklace, on its original silver chain. Likely Victorian. The hand-carved lady is simply stunning with her facial detail and curls, and there is a lovely iridescence when she catches the light. She looks particularly striking against the darker abalone background. There are no silver marks, which is not unusual with a piece of this age, but it has been tested and is guaranteed silver. It has a nice aged patina commensurate with age.
*Please note: I have just spotted a fault, not apparent at first – there is a tiny ‘cut’ in the silver to the right hand side (please see final photo). I cannot see how this could have been damaged where it is, and therefore think that it might have been a ‘cut too far’ from when it was made, as there are decorative cuts to the silver. In any case, it has been reduced accordingly. It isn’t noticeable unless scrutinising, not when wearing.
The chain measure 19.75″ or just over 50cm in length
The cameo measures 1.25″ x 1″ or 3.5cm x 2.5cm
in Good Original Antique Condition, with issue mentioned.
