A beautiful antique Victorian necklace of gorgeous glossy matched Agate gemstone beads, which is fabulously long! The necklace is made up of large chunky carnelian, moss agate, moonstone, bloodstone and various other Scottish agates. The beads have been cut by hand and hand drilled – the beads differ slightly in shape and size and they gently graduate to the centre. The necklace is hand-knotted, denoting quality. You just can’t beat a hand-knotted necklace for strength and durability and this one has certainly stood the test of time. There is no fastener, the necklace just goes on over the head and can be worn in a variety of ways. The agates are matched at each side, which is rare to find and looks fantastic when worn.
The only thing worth mentioning is that some of the threads from the string have frayed a little here and there over time, but this doesn’t affect the integrity of the necklace, which is still good and strong. These little ends could be snipped off, but I will leave it to the buyer to do as they wish. The beads themselves are in Remarkable Condition for 125, or so, years old.

The largest central bead length measures a Whopping: 33mm!
