A rare Art Deco carved early plastic celluloid, hand-painted, horse’s head brooch, with lucky horseshoe, attributed to the renowned Charles Horner. This really is a very charming piece, with lots of lovely hand painted detail, in wonderful condition too. The brooch fastens with a simple C catch on the reverse.
Horner’s costume jewellery was not signed, but similar brooches appear in Tom Lawson’s book ‘Charles Horner of Halifax’.
