An amazing vintage Art Deco early plastic, chunky imitation amber beads and glass foil beads necklace – very unusual and stand-out! The contrast between the amber coloured beads and the foiled black/silver beads is just fantastic and it does have a rather tribal look to it.
The faux amber beads have fantastic swirls (please see photographs) they do look very much like the Real Thing! They are made of a hard early plastic, with no seams.
The necklace was on the original cat-gut thread, which unfortunately broke whilst I was taking the photographs. It has therefore been professionally re-threaded, exactly as it was, and is now raring to go! It fastens with the original screw barrel clasp. The final photo shows it after re-threading and there appears to be no difference at all.
EVERYTHING IS ALL ORIGINAL (apart from the thread).
Necklace measures approximately: 20.75″ or 52.5cm
The largerst central bead measures a whopping: 1.5″ in length!! or 39mm
