An absolutely Stunning vintage Art Deco, marquise cut, diamond rhinestone and emerald rhinestone, floral spray/leaf brooch. All of the stones are present and original to the piece – they sparkle just like the Real Thing! I love the contrast of the emerald green rhinestone stem and the clear leaves (or petals). One of the marquise cut stones has a tiny chip, but you really don’t notice this unless studying the enlarged photographs, not when wearing. I have tried to show this in the photographs but it was very difficult – please see last two photos.
The brooch is rhodium plated, which is a metal of the platinum family, used on high end costume jewellery to prevent tarnishing. The brooch is still fabulously shiny even now. There is a tiny amount of rhodium plate loss on the pin itself (1.5mm) close to the hinge. Neither of these minor imperfections, in my opinion, detract in any way from its immense charm – it is Fabulous and very wearable.
It fastens with a rollover safety catch on the reverse. A Top Quality and very eye-catching piece.
