A fabulous vintage mid-century heart-shaped silver Eloxal and black enamel scarf clip / dress clip, set with a large faux pearl. It has a lovely bold Modernist design, which is so striking against the black enamel. The clip is very strong and working well. Stamped ‘Western Germany’ on the clip.
Eloxal is a lightweight aluminium alloy produced in Germany and was used for making jewellery and other accessories during the war, when other metals were being used for the war effort. It was still being manufactured right up to the 1970’s. One of the great things about it is that it is lovely and shiny and doesn’t tarnish. Highly Collectable and Sought After now.
The scarf is not included.
