Mid Century

A fabulous and RARE original vintage Majolica, Art Nouveau style clam shell soap dish, ashtray, bon bon dish, or trinket bowl, by SECLA Portugal.  The dish is in a lovely mid-green, with a fabulous iridescent lustre glaze, which looks gorgeous when it catches the light.  I have done quite a lot of research before listing this, but have not found another remotely similar, which leaves me to believe it is a really rare piece.   Stamped on the reverse for SECLA Portugal and impressed with the number P2972.  In excellent condition for its age, with some light crazing on the reverse side, no chips or damage.

 Measures approximately: 6.5″ x 4.5″

or 165mm x 115mm
